Young Voices

Grades 3-6
No Audition Necessary

Young Voices learn the foundations of vocal technique, sight-singing, acting and performance skills in this choral and drama program. Young Voices enjoy the benefits of the strong YAA curriculum with less of a weekly commitment. They perform throughout the year, ending with a spring production.

Monday, 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Tuition: $1,000 yearly

Rising Stars

Grades 5-8
By Audition/Invitation Only

Rising Stars continue to study vocal technique, sight singing, acting and performance skills in this rigorous choral and drama program. Rising Stars commit to rehearse twice a week and 10+ public performances a year. The group represents YAA in the community and sings once a month at Christ Church Bronxville’s Sunday morning service. Students are involved in YAA’s musical salons, Annual Benefit and spring production.

Mondays & Tuesdays, 4:00 – 6:00 PM

Tuition: $1,000 yearly

Grades 8 -12
By Audition/Invitation Only

Stars further build vocal technique through small ensemble a capella and accompanied singing, solos, duos and trios, scene work and study of styles and historical periods in greater depth. These students are ready to take on greater artistic independence. The Stars meet once a week up until the last trimester, when they come twice a week and on Saturdays. Additionally, Stars are highly encouraged to take the Vocal Performance Class for advanced solo vocal training. Stars sing several public performances throughout the year and are the leaders YAA’s musical salons, Annual Benefit and spring production.

Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8:30 PM & Thursdays 7:30 – 9 PM (begins March 27)

Vocal Performance

Grades 8 -12
By Invitation Only

This advanced class is for students who are ready to perform solo in front of their peers, faculty, and visiting guest artists, in order to build better performance and audition skills. Students will study different styles of music as they prepare repertoire for NYSSMA, musical salons, Annual Benefit and our spring production. If they are ready, high school seniors will work towards a final senior solo recital.
Thursdays 7:30 – 9:00 PM

Tuition: $1,000 yearly




YAA Ensemble

Grades 4-12 Pre-registration w/placement audition/screening

YAA Ensemble is a place for instrumentalists to gather in small groups – applying their solo skills and collaborating to make great music! Ensemble members will be matched by age, instrument, and musical interest to create anything from rock bands, to string quartets, or even bluegrass bands. YAA Ensemble is part music and history lesson, part performance and ear training and always lots of fun!

Assigned one hour in the times below

Thursdays 7:00 – 9:00 PM
Fridays 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Saturdays 9 AM – 12 PM

Scarsdale Ballet at YAA

Young at Arts is thrilled and honored to collaborate with the Scarsdale Ballet Studio to bring the very best in dance training to our community.  Scarsdale Ballet, directed by former New York City Ballet ballerina, Diana White, is the leader in the region for teaching impeccable technique and artistry, from the very beginning dancer to the most advanced. Their teaching methods translate into powerful body habits that your child will take along for life. All classes below will be held on Thursday afternoons in Taylor Hall.


For Boys Only (Ages 8 – 14)
A master ballet teacher and coach from Russia, Simon Kazantsev was plucked from an ice hockey rink in Moscow to be trained by the world famous Bolshoi Ballet. Since his professional stage career, he has devoted himself to training young people in the US. Simon will tailor this class specifically to the needs of building strength, agility, speed, and coordination in boys, which will translate onto the stage, to the field, and to everyday life. Beginning Ballet for Girls (11 – 18)
This class is perfect as an introduction to Ballet Technique, the gold standard for developing stage presence and dramatic movement skills. It is never too late to start! Besides learning classical positions, steps and combinations, dancers will also develop their core strength, alignment, flexibility and coordination, leading to better posture overall. A must for all types of performers, ballet training will positively affect both vocal technique and theatrical performance. In fact, this class is ideal for all young women seeking to enhance their physical confidence, grace and assurance, as they become leaders of our next generation. Taught by Ellen Shea.

Musical Theater Dance (Boys and Girls, 11 – 18)
In addition to ballet, all YAA students who want an edge at auditions will want to take this class which will expose students to the different styles of dances used on the stages across Broadway, including jazz, tap, hip hop and more. Students will perform twice throughout the year.

YAA Summer Camp

Rising 5th graders and all high school

Offered to incoming 5th graders – high school students
YAA Sleep Away camp is a fun filled week spent exploring nature and great music. What could be better! Our week at camp is filled with singing, acting, campfires, tons of outdoor fun on the field, in the lake or in a boat, and everlasting friendships.

YAA in Schools!

In addition to our programs in Bronxville, YAA has an after school program serving Anne Hutchinson and Greenvale Elementary Schools in Eastchester, NY. In addition, YAA provides a general music curriculum, as well as after school programs at the Amani Public Charter School in Mount Vernon, NY. If you are interested in having YAA come to your school campus for a one day workshop, after school or school day offering, please contact us at
