Summer Camps July & August 2018

pop experience camp: Monday, July 9 - Friday, July 13

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to learn from members of Beyonce’s band! An all-girl power trio of teachers will push you to achieve new heights in your craft while learning the music of the Queen of pop and beyond. Our faculty includes musicians from Beyoncé’s all girl band: drummer Nikki Glaspie, bassist Divinity Roxx, and saxophonist Kat Rodriguez. Participants will be learning theory, ear training and style, as well as working on stage presence and mic technique. Students will sing and play with the artists at a band jam at the end of every day and a performance for parents at the end of the week. Grades 6 - 12  * Students will be grouped by age.

Offered for the week of July 9-13. $500 a week but only $450 a week for the early registration.

disney pixar mania: Monday, July 16 - Friday, July 20

Our musical theater day camps will be exploring 2 fantastic themes and their many connections, Disney Pixar films and composer and actor, Lin Manuel Miranda.  The world of Disney Pixar brings so many of our favorite songs written by the great composers! From Finding NemoCarsToy Story and Up, to the newest sensation Coco! Students will perform a
salon at the end of each week for the public. Grades 3 - 12 * Students will be grouped by age.

Offered for the week of July 16-20. $500 a week but only $450 for the early registration

Funk Rock Experience: Monday, July 23 - Friday, July 27

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to learn the techniques of rock and funk from members of the bands of Beyoncé, Maceo Parker, The Nth Power and The Neville Brothers. Students will learn theory, ear training, and style, as well as stage presence. A special guest, TBA, will jam with the students at the end of every day, including a performance for parents.  Grades 6 - 12  * Students will be grouped by age.

Offered for the week of July 23-27. $500 a week but only $450 a week for the early registration.

Broadway intensive presents: waitress: monday, july 30

In this one day intensive you will be taught material from Waitress by company members directly from Waitress on Broadway! Grades 6 - 12  * Students will be grouped by age.

Offered for one day on Monday, July 30th. $165

a salute to lin manuel miranda: monday, august 6 - friday, august 10

Our musical theater day camps will be exploring 2 fantastic themes and their many connections, Disney Pixar films and composer and actor, Lin Manuel Miranda.  In his young life, Lin Manuel Miranda’s work spans many genres, from his work as an actor in West Side Story, Working & Merrily We Roll Along, his creations on Broadway with In the Heights, Bring it On & Hamilton to his work with Disney on Moana and Mary Poppins. We will explore music, movement, drama, history and culture through these 2 endless creative fonts that have shaped our current culture. Students will perform a salon at the end of each week for the public. Grades 3 - 12 * Students will be grouped by age.

Offered for the week of August 6-10. $500 a week but only $450 for early registration.

YAA sleep away camp in maine: thursday, august 16 - thursday, august 23

Young at Arts is making its home this summer on the beautiful shores of Great Pond at Camp Runoia in the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine. We hope your child will join us for a week of making beautiful music underneath the stars and along the shores. Activities include: singing, ensembles, and bands. As well as typical camp activities like swimming, sailing, hiking, archery, arts & crafts, cooking, sports, campfires, canoes, friends, and fun. Camp makes memories that last a lifetime! 

Grades 6 - 12 * Students will be grouped by age. 

Offered for the week of August 16-23. $1400 includes bus transportation, room, board, all activities & instruction.

 

 

 

Registering for Broadway Intensives:

  • Friday, Nov 10 (11:00 am - 3:00 pm)
  • Monday, Jan 15 (11:00 am - 3:00 pm)

Join us for two separate exciting days where our YAA campus will be buzzing with the energy of a Broadway show rehearsal. We will be visited by company members directly from both Aladdin and Hamilton on Broadway. Expert singers, actors, dancers and musicians will work directly with students on material from their respective shows. Broadway veterans will discuss what it’s like to perform on a B’way stage every night, sharing behind the scenes stories, as well as talking about their own journey. Each day will culminate with a group performance of all the students have learned, with time for pictures and autographs at the conclusion of this unforgettable day!

Registering for 2017-2018 Classes:

We have changed our registration process. Registration will happen in person at Christ Church Bronxville. We will not be accepting credit cards.  Payments can be made by check, money order or cash.  Payment plans are available. All checks and money orders should be made out to Young at Arts.
